My Experience with Refined Sugar
To help you understand my beliefs about sugar, let me tell you about my own experience with it. I am a typical sufferer from the aging chemicals and I can use what I learned from my experiences with these chemicals to help you understand the harm they cause. The people who are susceptible to the damage the aging chemicals cause the body and brain—and who continue to eat our modern diet—can suffer the same harm I experienced (and still do experience if I do not follow my diet). Through my writing and speaking, I try to lead these people away from foods with excess aging chemicals and guide them toward eating a diet that will reverse some of the harm these chemicals cause.
I reacted to sugar: I was obese. At one time I was five feet eight inches tall and weighed two hundred and fifty pounds. Heavy? My suits were extra-large.
I knew I had to lose weight but I knew I lacked the willpower to follow a strict weight-loss diet; I had to find another way to rid myself of fat. I decided that I could change one aspect of my diet—I could eliminate sweet treats. So, I did. I ate as much unsweetened food as I wanted, as often as I wanted. I lost about five to ten pounds a year, year after year, until my weight dropped to two hundred pounds. I was pleased.
Then, some years later, after I had identified the other aging food chemicals, I changed my diet to decrease the amount of these foods in my diet. Slowly my weight lessened even further as I lost a further fifty pounds. Altogether, just through these diet change,s I lost one hundred pounds!
While I carried this extra weight, I also carried bloating. As my weight dropped my bloated feeling subsided. My patients following the diet also lost their feeling of being bloated as they lost weight
